Why the hell don't people call/email/text back anymore?

Is it unreasonable to think that when you hit up somebody, whether email, phone, text, or whatever, that that actually GET BACK TO YOU!?

"Oh hey, it's Moose! I'll just get back to him after this porno"

I'll admit, I can be impatient.

But I don't think it's crazy to expect someone to RETURN YOUR CALL OR TEXT!

Especially, if it's a company or otherwise professional organization.

With the advent of instantaneous texting and email that pops up on your phone (which everyone has glued to their damn hand, myself included) you would think that places would be getting back to you with some sort of timeliness but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Am I being a Dumb-brain in thinking that it's not too much to ask that if I send you a text question on Monday afternoon that you should be getting back to me by that Wednesday?

Obviously it depends on what I'm asking you but if I email your company inquiring about your services, it shouldn't take you any longer than 1 week to get back to me.

Is that crazy?

I know I'm a little all over the place here with where I'm aiming but I
think when it comes to companies or businesses, there's just no excuse.

Maybe we're all inundated with the boss, spammer, spouses, kids, relatives blasting our inboxes and so when someone texts 'Where was Tchaikovsky from?' it's a feeling of power with a tinge of relief when you can finally say to yourself, 'meh. I'll hit 'em back later on that.' And then you get distracted by your kid almost putting an Oneida fork in the outlet, catch the news story about the hit and run in your area, wife asks you why you didn't grab napkins at the store...and before you know it....that 'Tchiakovsky' text is long gone from your head and by 5pm, buried by 4 other texts/emails.

Either that or you got kidnapped by a marauding pack of flying vampires who want to feast on your meatsack so you forgot.

Yeah, it's probably that.
